My Admiration For “The Tough Girl
When I was growing up, I was and still surrounded by strong women. When I say strong, I mean strong in spirit, strength and just that energy which is indefinable, but, you hope to get that energy and have that motivate you to get shit in gear. My mom is the toughest woman I know. I mean, I remember somewhere in the mid 2000’s in December. My mom, sis and my “God sister” “K” (we’ll call her “K” for legalities) and I were decorating the Christmas tree in the living room. It was a fun atmosphere, just a good vibe. There wasn’t a ladder so we were climbing on furniture. Near the Christmas tree, there was a glass coffee table …you can see where this story is going.
So, my mom lost her footing and feel directly into the middle of the glass table. To described what this looked like, look up the “Mick Foley vs. ‘Taker Hell In A Cell Match ‘98.”
“K”, sis and I were struck aghast and rendered motionless in shock. But, my mom said, not with pain but a mixture of being annoyed and humor “Would one of y’all help me up!” For a few weeks after that and still to this day I call my mom “Mom Foley” referring to instances such as that. But regarding my mom, I’ve barely scratched the surface about her.
I have an admiration for women that are considered athletic and all around tough…but still are graceful and have a soft side to counter balance that “hardcore edge.” Knowing that, I have an admiration for female athletes such as Awesome/Amazing Kong, Joanie “Chyna” Laurer, Jazz (female wrestler from the old school ECW) Venus Williams and Serena Williams and many others who‘s names escape me, but I respect there work. So, when it comes to it, this post is my ode to “The Tough Girl.”

…Gotta love these “Marks Gone Wrong” moments.
I’ve been waiting for this footage! I was checking out Chris Jericho’s twitter page and he mentioned a “mark” interfered with his promo…well, things didn’t go well for the mark.
“Marks” embarass the crap out of me.
- Mark
- Def. A Mark is a wrestling fan who believes that all that happens in the ring is real.
Marks are the equivelant of any heckler in any field of the arts. What bothers me about a freaking “mark” is that they perpetuate stereotypes of wrestling fans that a good amount of us don’t adhere to. I’m glad someone recorded this.

Music Projects
Here’s my main music project, Sketch Malkus. It’s a one man project that is a synthesis of guitar, drum programming, synth and bass. I’ve heard it be referred to as “Urban Industrial” and “Industrial Grunge”

How about some “Rims” and White “Wimmis” while you’re at it,Steele?
When I read the Huffington Post’s editorial entitled “Hey Michael Steele Don’t Forget the Watermelon” by Earl Ofari Hutchinson, all I could think was “ARE YOU FREAKING SERIOUS?!”
Okay, here’s the deal. Due to pre-civil rights “white is right” brainwashing, a lot of black families had to adhere to the social norms at that time. But, thanks to Civil Rights and black empowering movements, those same families embraced there blackness and progressed into a more open mindset. But, at that same time, there were families who keep those small minded, “I’m goin’ to stays in my place”, self-hate ideals going. I consider myself an open minded person. When it comes to issues, I listen to all sides of an argument and think what’s better for myself. But, there are some people out there who justify there invitation was lost in the mail to a party they weren’t invited to in the first place.
Everytime I see Steele, he just makes me wince in embarassment.
I mean, what kind of man are you when you back down from some irrelevant talk show host who claims he’s the “leader of the GOP” when you were elected chairman of the RNC? His apologizing to Rush more or less confirmed that if you’re black and agree with the ideas or want to be apart of the RNC, that you have to apologize to “massah” if you speak out of place. Now you’re trying to get other blacks to be interested in Republican views by the offering of soul food and hip-hop? If you’re going to go on stereotypes, how about offering some some “rims” and “white wimmins” too? I’m going to abridge this before I go into a “shaggy dog” tirade that does more harm than good to my argument.
Bottom line is, I think it’s a shame that how we as a people can deliberately underestimate ourselves and those same people not see anything wrong with it.

No Need For An Intro,But, Here’s One Anyway
As I felt the morning sun shine beaming onto my eyelids, the first thing on my mind was to get to the computer and start writing. In my post-nocturnal/pre-coherent fog, ideas came to me. Any art that could be considered confrontational shares some common ground with hunting. For this example, I’ll use a tiger and explain how it hunts. The way a tiger hunts it’s prey, it uses sight and hearing rather than relying on smell, the tiger stalks its prey and once it’s in proximity, the tiger attacks from the side or rear and goes for the jugular or the back of the head. Well, I see that as a good mind frame regarding writing. I take on a topic, see both sides of the coin and call out whatever points that I disagree with.
Okay, some would think “That seems simple enough? Why the blood thirsty imagery of the tiger stalking it’s prey?” Well, we’ve just reached the first hump of this rollercoaster of potential and eventual controversy. Thing is, when it comes to the arts, I think a lot of people would agree that emotion is a strong underlying current. When expressing passion, one would go through praise, anger, frustration and sometimes a few good laughs. It’s like going for the jugular. Bottom line, when you’re on this site, you’re on safari. So watch your neck.
